 Bastille Day is the French national holiday. It commemorates the storming of the
Bastile, which took place on 14 July 1789 and marked the beginning of the French Revolution.
The Bastille was a prison and a symbol of the absolute and arbitrary power of Louis the
16th's Ancient Regime.
Festivities are held on the morning of 14 July, on the Champs-Elysees avenue in Paris in
front of the President of the Republic.
Bastille Day Military Parade is a French military parade held in the morning of the 14 July
in Paris.
The bastile parade opens with many cadets from the Ecole Polytechnique, Saint-Cyr, Ecole Navale,
and so forth, then other infantry troops, then motorised troops; aviation of the
Patrouille de France flies above.
