 Human Rights Day is celebrated annually across the world on 10th December.
It was established in 1950.
It is to honour the United Nations General Assembly's adoption and proclamation,
on 10th December 1948, of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR), the
first global enunciation of human rights.
It is a national holiday in Cambodia and Namibia, celebrated on the same date.
In Kiribati, it is celebrated on the next day, 11th December.
In South Africa, celebrated on 21st March. It commemorates the massacre of a group
of peaceful protesters outside a police station in Sharpeville, near Vereeniging,
on 21 March 1960.
Turks and Caicos Islands celebrates on 24th October.
